Fort Wayne, Indiana Events


SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19
  • The Pennsylvania Railroad in the Tri-State area:  Pennsylvania Railroad Passenger Station, Fort Wayne. The history of the “standard Railraod of the World” in photographs, maps, equipments and scale models.  Admission is $4 (12 and under free).

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26
  • Winter Carnival:  Build a snowman, igloo and snow fort, go ice fishing, or make a “snow angel” at the Community Center, enter the long drive and putting contest or try the tennis sampler at McMillen Park, and take a nature walk and make a craft at Franke Park Day Camp Nature Lodge.  FREE admission, prizes and refreshments at all locations.

TUESDAY, MARCH 1
  • Southwest Women’s Networking:  Don Halls Tavern at Coventry, Fort Wayne.  747-5202.

THURSDAY, MARCH 3
  • Welcome Coffee:  Sweetwater, Fort Wayne.  .  For newcomers to Fort Wayne. RSVP to hospitality@fwnewcomers.com by March 2.
  • Supershot immunization clinic.  Aldersgate Church, Fort Wayne.   Free immunizations up to age 18.  Parents must provide shot record.  Call 424-SHOT for info.
  • 100th International Women’s Day Celebration:  IPFW, Walb Union Ballroom, .  Dr. Linda Malkasa, Oncology Chair for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, will be the keynote speaker.  Free, but donations welcome. 

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16
  • Welcome luncheon:  Chops, Fort Wayne.  .  For women new to Fort Wayne in the last 18 months who are seeking new friendships and support.  RSVP to Marianne at 637-7359.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13
  • Vera Bradley Outlet Sale:  Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, Fort Wayne.  Expo Center.  Two ticketed days followed by three public days. 

FRIDAY, MAY 20
  • Fiber Arts Celebration:  Soloman Farm Park, Fort Wayne.  The focus of the festival is education through hands-on participation and demonstrations of the processes of making natural fiber products:  wool dyeing, spinning, weaving and more.  Free admission and free parking.

RECURRING EVENTS
  • Georgetown Bowl Farmers Market:  Tuesdays from enjoy a farmers market inside Georgetown Bowl to find handmade crafts, jewelry and baked goods.  Special activities for children are featured each month.
  • Botanical Conservatory $1 Nights:  First Thursday of the month, .  $1 admission for all adults, babies and up to age two are still free.
  • Abraham Lincoln:  The Image:  Allen County Public Library Downtown, now through March 31th.  Visit the special exhibit featuring printed material dedicated to the life of Abraham Lincoln.
