We go through a lot of parmesan cheese in our house. I love it, and the gremlins love it. If I indulged myself, a 1:1, parmesan cheese to main dish ratio would be entirely acceptable. When the last drop of parm cheese is (sadly) gone, one is left with a container that is easy to peel the label off, wash and use again!
I use one of these containers to store and dispense brown sugar for our morning oatmeal. Flour, suguar, baking soda, rice, oats and dried beans would also work well in this type of container. Looking outside the kitchen, you could store beads, buttons, hair barrettes, nails, little toys- the possiblities are endless!
We recycle our Cottage cheese and big Yogurt containers, putting our leftovers or, in the summer, we put our garden vegetable in them to store them.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I have very fond memories of my grandmother having lots of these containers in her fridge. You always knew they were filled with her yummy cooking! Thanks for the tip!
