2011 4th of July Events


Here is a list of 4th of July events compiled by The Journal Gazette.  I have highlighted a few below.

  • Decatur: Fireworks begin at dusk July 4 at the Riverside Center.
  • Fort Wayne:
    • Fireworks begin at 10:15 p.m. July 4 at IPFW. The Alumni Relations Rooftop Party in parking garage No. 1 is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. Entry is $5 a car. Food vendors will be available throughout the campus. Both IPFW's South campus and Ivy Tech's North campus are open to the public for free parking.
    • The TinCaps will be hosting post-game fireworks following their July 4 game against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
    • The Cathedral Choir's annual "Salute to America!" concert begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception downtown. The concert and parking are free.
    • The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road, offers its annual patriotic celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday. No tickets are required, parking is free and child care will be available.
  • Leo-Cedarville: The 11th annual Freedom Festival begins at 2 p.m. July 4 at Riverside Gardens Park at Schwartz and Leo-Grabill roads. Food vendors, children's rides and live music will be offered throughout the day. Fireworks begin at dusk. Parking is $3.
  • Auburn: Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. July 5 at the Auburn Auction Park, which will also offer live music and food vendors beginning at 5 p.m.
