Update: Redbox to Raise Prices
So, the word on the street (like my Sesame Street reference?) is that Redbox is going to raise prices! This is very unexpected and set to happen soon.
According to a press release, as of October 31, one night rentals will go from $1.00 to $1.20. Rental prices on Blu-ray Discs ($1.50 per day) and video games ($2 per day) will remain the same.
If you still want the $1 DVD rental, go to Redbox.com to reserve any DVD (even new releases) for $1 from November 1 through November 30. You can read full details here.
We mostly try to get any DVDs from the library, but the occasional Redbox rental does take place. I am not sure if the price hike will affect this occasional practice or not? What do you think?

Even at $1.20, Redbox is still MUCH cheaper than going to Family Video for new releases!! It won't hinder our Redbox rentals.
