Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Audrey and I at Frugal Fort Wayne heart all of you out there in cyberspace!  Here are a couple last minute, frugal Valentine's Day gift ideas.

• Significant Other:  My husband and I don't spend money on Valentine's Day gifts.  We feel the intent of the holiday is great but not the commercialism.  For your significant other consider the following:
• Write a love letter.
• Give a coupon book with offers such as 'one free unload the dishwasher' or 'one free mow the grass.'
• Have a date night at home which includes a free Redbox movie or a free movie on Hulu.com.
• Children:  I have fond memories of looking forward to a small surprise on Valentine's Day, especially because we rarely got toys/clothes/etc for no reason.  It doesn't have to be anything major.
• A pack of gum.
• A pair of fun socks.
• A book.

The main idea of Valentine's Day is just a gentle reminder to tell those you love...that you love them!  No money is actually required!
