Apparently Foster Park is celebrating it's 100th year anniversary this year. The events were supposed to be held July 6 and 7, but due to the storm damage, it was pushed back to this week. Here's what you can expect to find:
Friday July 27: KaBOOM! Play day
- 5pm - Family Fun Walk around the park's two-mile loop. Pre-register at www.fortwayneparks.org or the day of the event at 4pm in Pavilion #2. All participants should check in at 4:30pm in Pavilion #2. Fee: $5 per individual or $10 per household.
- 6pm - Southwood Park Neighborhood Association is hosting a picnic at Pavilion #1. Free-will offering will be accepted.
- 6-8:30pm - free carnival
- 6-9:30pm - free sports activities
- All day: Foursomes can play 18 holes with a cart at Foster Park Golf Course for $100. Call 427-6735 or reserve tee time at www.fortwayneparks.org.
Saturday, July 28
- Rediscover Your Parks: tours of Swinney, Foster, Lakeside, McMillen and Memorial parks as well as Rudisill Blvd. Tour buses will depart from Swinney Park at 10am and 1pm. Register at www.fortwayneparks.org by 7/25 (today!) Fees do apply.
