Save $40 a Year on Electricity (Maybe)

I was just going through my 'frugal folder' and I came across an offer I received a few weeks ago from Indiana Michigan Power, maybe you got one, too.  Basically, they want to send someone out to install a device on the air conditioner that will allow I & M to activate your air conditioner's compressor to work at 50% capacity during times of high demand.

They call this a "cycling event" and during this time the fan will still circulate air throughout the home without continuing to cool it.  The paper claims that it will, "have very little impact on the temperature of your home and most participants will not notice a change."

I have not done this.  Partly, I forgot and filed the paper.  Also, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea?  Has anyone done this?  They company says they will deduct $8.00 from your bill May through September if you decide to participate.

If you are interested, call 1-855-607-3788 or go to indianamichiganpower.com/save to sign up.
