Interesting Web Article About Popular Financial Gurus

Here's a link to an article/news clip about some of the popular personal-finance experts that have become popular over the past few years.  Suzie Orman, Dave Ramsey and others are mentioned.  Basically this woman talked about how the Orman's of the world cannot give blanket advice and expect all people to be able to understand and put it to use.

I agree to some extent, but I think that sometimes people need a point to start with and any effort is better than none.  Everyone has to start somewhere and if all you ever do is say, "It's too hard, I will never get my debt paid off."  You won't.

So, if you New Year's Resolution has anything to do with finances, as many do, start small and just take baby steps.  My husband and I started out with large amounts of college school loan debt when we were married and we lived off only one income until it was paid off.  Find a strategy that works for you and if the first one doesn't, keep trying.

Recently, I have learned one thing from going through Joe's job loss and reassessing our financial future.  Life is too short to not enjoy things.  This means being responsible, but I also need to realize that spending that little bit extra on already peeled carrots one week make a little bit more time for me to do something else.
