Frugal Summer (Indoor) Fun

My oldest was given a packet of reading and math exercises to work on and turn in at the end of summer.  I needed to find some activities to keep the other ones busy while he was working.  Here's what I came up with:

These are sock puppets that we made with socks  (the mismatched ones) and washable markers.  The great thing is that the kids color on them, make a show and then you just pop them in the wash and the socks are clean again!  So easy and it kept them occupied for a long time.

This idea came from a friend, she suggested putting shaving cream down on the table and then letting the kids make designs, letters, numbers, etc in it.  Once you are all done, wash it up and your table is very clean!  It even takes off a lot of the marks (especially after completing the above activity).

Our house is baseball obsessed, so note the baseball diamond in the shaving cream.  :)
