- Put on layers. This tip sounds like a no brainer, but in theory, a lighter long-sleeve shirt will help keep you two degrees warmer. A heavy sweater will up the temp about 4 degrees. Pile on the layers to keep you warm without turning up the thermostat.
- Use blankets. Use blankets to cover yourself for added warmth. Also, hang blankets over windows to act as insulation from drafts and to help keep the warm air from escaping. Also, consider rugs or blankets on your hardwood floors.
