The 2011 Learn to Swim Flier came in the mail last week. If you are considering swim lessons for your kiddos this summer, this is a great program. The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation conducts Learn to Swim Classes throughout the summer at Northside Pool. FYI, if you haven't been to Northside Pool lately, it has gotten a major makeover. There are two slides, a beach type entry and even a splash park within the shallowest part of the kid's pool. Not only is this a very cost effective program, but it also is a GREAT learning experience.
- The lessons are $30 per child and $25 for siblings registering in the same session. This is a great price for public swim lessons.
- All classes are taught by WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certified instructors. This is a rather rigorous certification program that really enables the teachers to teach the mechanics of swimming.
- There is lots of shade and space for the parents/siblings that are watching.
- The last day of each session involves a Family Fun Day where all family members get to participate.
Registration started March 18 and I know that the evening classes filled up quickly last year.
You can go
here to sign up and find available times. Hopefully the Fort Wayne weather will be conducive for swimming soon!
