I went to Target earlier this week to redeem my great Target coupons. After checking out, I realized that one of the coupons had not scanned and the $3.00 was not taken off one of my pairs of $4.98 clearance jeans.
Now, you may say, "Three dollars, that is nothing." Well, I went to the service desk and asked the woman if there was anything she could do. She retrieved the coupon from the check-out lane and simply scanned it and then her little drawer popped open and she gave me $3.00 in cash!
I was only there a matter of minutes and I didn't insult or offend anyone. This small occurrence just reiterated to me that coupons are really cash. I realize that they could make you buy something you don't already need, but with careful planning, coupons can be a great savings tool.
Those $4.98 jeans ($1.98 after my coupon) are for my God-daughter's birthday (I am pretty sure she doesn't read this website.) :) I am saving those and some other cute things I got for her until her big day. It pays to shop ahead, if you can. It also helps that she is super tiny so you can always find those sizes left on the shelf.
