Vinegar is my go to cleaner around the house. It is natural, inexpensive and safe to use around the kids. I have an almost two year old that defies all safety precautions that we put into place, so we just can’t have anything unsafe within reach. Here are some ways you can use it.
· Mix one cup vinegar and five cups water to clean windows.
· ¼ cup vinegar to one gallon warm water to clean and shine linoleum and no-wax vinyl floors
· A 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water in a spray bottle can do lots of things
o Cleans tile and fiberglass shower walls and inhibits growth of mold and mildew
o Use to clean mirrors, bathrooms, and kitchen counter tops
o Spray on fruits and vegetables before washing to disinfect and remove wax
· Use vinegar as an all natural fabric softener. Add ½ cup vinegar in the rinse cycle.
· Use vinegar as a natural weed killer. Pour 100% vinegar on grass in landscape beds. Just be careful of the plants you want to keep. Salt also works well for this job. It increases the salinity of the soil so that nothing will grow for a while. So, don’t use it to get rid of the grass for a garden. Nothing will grow!
