Did you know that there is a discount home improvement store in the Fort Wayne area?  Habitat ReStore sells new and used items ranging from construction materials, paint and household items, all at a reduced price. 

When you buy from this establishment, you are supporting Habitat for Humanity in Fort Wayne.  Items are all donated by local community members and businesses for a tax deduction. 

The store is located on Wells Street with some what limited hours.  Visit their website for a listing of some of the larger items for sale, location and hours of business.

$5 in Free Scholastic Books with 2 Kellogg's Codes

Scholastic Book Club and Kellogg's are teaming up to give you a $5 coupon towards Scholastic Books with the purchase of two participating Kellogg's products sold exclusively at Walmart.  I found out about this amazing deal (and the opportunity to print $1/2 Kellogg's cereal coupons) via email a few days after signing up for the Kellogg's Newsletter here.  Here's what you have to do:

1. Purchase any two participating Kellogg's products, and find special codes inside each box.
2. Enter both codes online at www.Scholastic.com/kellogg and download your $5 book coupon, good for Scholastic book(s) or other products.
3. Then follow the instructions to redeem your coupon through your child's classroom teacher or at the Scholastic Store Online. 
4. And Repeat!  You can do this as many times as you want, but all codes must be entered by 7/1/12.

** Ok, so I wrote that entire post while on hold with Scholastic.  I had 4 boxes of Raisin Bran, thus giving me 2- $5 coupons.  Apparently, you can only use one $5 code per online transaction.  Each $5 code can only be used on ONE book that is valued at $5 or less.  Also, make sure you get your school's 5-character code before you start the ordering process.  The books will be sent to your child's school if you use the school code, thus eliminating shipping charges.  Tax is not charged.  You must put in credit card information even if your total is $0.00.

Although I found it silly to have to do two separate transactions, it works out better for the teachers!  They are awarded a free book PER online transaction.  Therefore, Scholastic will be giving me 2 free books (Purplicious and Pinkalicious) and my gremlin's teacher 2 free books.  All for the price of 4 boxes of Raisin Bran!  I used two $1/2 coupons that I received after signing up for the Kellogg's Newsletter which further reduced my out of pocket costs.  Keep an eye out for additional Kellogg's product coupons.  ALSO, keep an eye out for sale prices in competitor's ads, as you can ad match them at Walmart!

BOGO TinCaps Tickets with Kraft Singles Wrapper

On Tuesdays through September 6, fans can bring a Kraft Singles wrapper to the TinCaps box office for a buy one ticket, get one ticket free offer.  Also, the ACPL gives the kids free TinCaps tickets when they sign up for the summer reading program.

While researching this offer, I noticed that the July 14th TinCaps game will be peanut-free.  They will not serve any peanut products so those with peanut allergies can come enjoy a game.  

I highly recommend catching a game if you have not had the opportunity to do so. The FFW sisters and families were recently invited to watch a game and the fireworks from the 'TreeTop' section. It was amazing!

There are two (that Frugal Fort Wayne is aware of) sites in Fort Wayne that promote steep discounts on local merchant's gift cards, services, etc.  Deals are presented weekly, in limited quantities.  Here are the details of each site.

• 1/2 Price Deals:  Affiliated with Indiana's News Center
• New deals are presented on Thursdays at 4 pm.
• Current Deal:  5 $10 Gift Certificates for $25 from Wrigley Field
• Half Price Ft. Wayne:  Affiliated with WAJI and WLDE
• New deals are presented on Fridays at 6 am.
• Current Deal:  (starting this Friday) $25 for $50 worth of certificates at Malibu Tanning
• Many past deals are still available for purchase. 

There are terms, exclusions and limitations, so buyer beware, but some of the deals look pretty good!  Worth checking them out, especially if you have a certain event or major purchase in mind.
