Vinegar So Many Uses: The Around the House Version

Here's a few ideas on how you can use vinegar around the house, especially this summer:

A burning issue:  Let vinegar take the sting out of sunburn and soothe your minor skin irritations.  Just sponge on to cool down summer's sizzle.

Better Fuel Efficiency (not in your car!):  For longer-lasting and brighter-burning propane lanterns, soak new wicks for several hours in full-strength white vinegar and let them dry before inserting.  Should burn brighter on the same amount of fuel.

Renew shoes:  Rescue your shoes from the damaging effects of salt stains.  To remove salt, pour undiluted white vinegar on a damp cloth and wipe into the affected areas.  Then, polish with a soft cloth.
