Frugal Quick Tip: Baby Food Jars

Baby food jars are pretty amazing little containers.  Their uses are endless.  Let's discuss a few, and please share in the comments some of your favorite ways to stay organized with baby food jars.
  • Cups:  Use these little glass jars as little toddler cups.  You don't have to worry about BPA in plastics, you can wash them on the bottom shelf of the dishwasher, they are the perfect portion size, and it doesn't matter if they get broken.  Also, screw the lid on if your gremlin can't finish her milk.
  • Junk Drawer Organizers:  Use the glass or plastic baby food containers as the perfect organizer for small office or junk drawer items such as rubberbands, paperclips and safety pins.
  • Plant Potted Herbs:  Use the glass jars to make a perfect little herb garden.
  • DIY Candles:  Melt down old candles and make new ones.  Get instructions here.
  • Spice Storage:  My mom still stores her spices and dried herbs.  She painted her lids the same color to improve asthetics, but don't forget to label.
  • Paint Pots:  Keep some new wall paint in a jar for easy touch ups.  Put craft paint in these little jars when doing a project with your little ones.
