Kid Candy Activity

Audrey had the idea for this great kid learning activity using your copious amounts of candy from Halloween!

  • Have your children sort the candy into like item piles.  We ended up with an 'other' pile for the candy that didn't have duplicates.
  • Help your children draw a graph.  Have them chart how many of each type of candy you have.  After all candy has been charted, ask them questions that require them to read the graph such as:  What type of candy do we have the most of?  The least?  How many types of candy do we only have 3 pieces of?  What happens to our graph if we each eat a piece?  (That was their favorite question!)
The girls had a blast doing this!  Later while I was making dinner, my two year old was pulling her bibs out of the drawer, putting them in piles and counting them!
