What To Do With That Leftover Halloween Candy

Do you have Halloween candy coming out of your ears?  Do you want to re-purpose some (or all) of it?  Never fear, Frugal Fort Wayne has some suggestions:

  • Cook with it!  This woman gives lots of recipes involving leftover Halloween candy.
  • Freeze it.  According to stilltasty.com, packaged chocolate candies will keep for 10-12 months in the freezer, fridge or in the pantry.  Mine vote is for the freezer, less likely to keep snacking when the candy is in there.
  • Take it to work and leave it in the break room.
  • Donate it.  There is a woman in Florida that uses the candy as 'packing peanuts' for gifts she sends to the military overseas.  I think this is just an ingenious idea.  You can find out more about this project by going to treatsfortroops.info
What do you do with your leftover Halloween candy?  We'd love to know.
