Recently, a good friend of mine suggested that I start paying bills online because she has had such great luck with it. I have always been skeptical because I felt it seemed insecure and I was afraid it wouldn't get there on time, etc. Well, I gave it a try at her urging and I LOVE IT!
To get started, you need a bank account that you can access from the internet. Then, you simply input the addresses, account numbers, etc. of the bills you want to pay. You can select dates, recurrent times, etc. They will even send you reminders if you haven't payed one for the month yet. This is fantastic for me.
You save time, money on stamps and potential late fees because you simply forgot or didn't have a stamp, etc. You also save the hassle of mailing them. You can even pay things like your association dues, charitable donations, etc. Anything that has an address is fair game.
If you have questions, ask your banking institute and they can probably get you set up quickly so you don't have to mess around with stamps any longer.
